Message From The Program Director

Welcome!

Welcome!

We are delighted that you are interested in the HCA/Tristar Nashville Program located at Southern Hills Medical Center.  Our program which started in July 2021, is rapidly transitioning from ‘new’ to ‘established’. We have many experiences to offer and look forward to building our future with you.  Nashville’s metro area of over 2 million people only has two Family Medicine residency programs and is in dire need of high-quality Family Medicine care. Our residency program’s goal is to educate the next generation of compassionate, comprehensive family medicine physicians for Nashville and beyond.

You will be a team member in an environment where residents and faculty exemplify mutual respect and commitment to the program. We are committed to evidence-based practice and nurturing a robust commitment to scholarly activity. Our weekly didactics on the Southern Hills campus are a highlight each week, with an interactive, collegial, and fun learning environment. While we love learning together, the core of our program is caring for our diverse patient panels.

The epicenter of our program is our new, beautiful residency clinic – Brentwood Family Medicine - in Brentwood TN. Our residency is located in the Nashville metro area, just 15 minutes from downtown Nashville. Nashville is known as the “Music City” and is home to legendary country music venues such as the Grand Ole Opry, the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum and the historic Ryman Auditorium. Nashville is also home to four professional sports franchises.

We are committed to the personal wellness and resiliency of our resident physicians; therefore, we not only provide solid educational experiences but also remain supportive of family and personal life. Just the views from our resident workspace and faculty offices are great reminders of the beauty and opportunities within the surrounding areas.

Thank you for considering us and I look forward to meeting you and sharing the opportunities we have to offer as you explore the next phase of your medical training.
